Here we go!!!
Ahh! It's the been the 3rd day of summer and things have been quite crazy! I've been doing much these past few days. Double workouts have begun for CVAC and I am glad it has kept me quite busy. We had a small meet last night in Shelby. A new record was formed at this Tuesday night meet. Every year so far Shelby has had a thunderstorm at this Tuesday night meet but not last night! There were lots of clouds in the skies but no thunder and lightning. In between summer workouts I have been volunteering at a retirement home. Everyday I have been there I have done something new. Let's see on the first day I played some piano and I learned how to play a new game Rummikub! Then another day I watched a very complicated card game knasta (I don't know like I said it was complicated). That is one game I am never going to learn how to play. Today, I learned how to play skip-bo (a lot easier than knasta). I also helped make some raspberry floats. The people there are so friendly and I love seeing there smiles. These next three days are going to be quite something. It will be the start of our college road trip! Tomorrow I touring ECU, Friday I'm seeing UNC-Chapel Hill, and finally on Saturday I am going to tour Duke University. So I will posting a lot more to describe these exciting experiences!

Let's GOOOOO!!!!
It's the one night that the individual swimmer knows is coming up. 2 days ago this event seemed like a century away but now it's the day of this event. So emotions are stirring up quite viciously. For those entering this particular event for the first time have multiple feelings. It's like walking up to a dark and mysterious room with fog everywhere. Some are freaked out about the scenery and some are excited to see what's in this room. Those who have swam this event before know the feeling of this event and are ready to just get it over with. They know the twists and turns of this room. They know the horrifying surprises and struggle to push to the end. What could this event be? It is the mile... a length of 1500 meters in the long course pool. The human mind endlessly runs with thoughts of worry and stress as this event comes closer and closer to its upcoming hour. Some say it's nothing quite arrogantly but you know in the inside the have at least a little concern about it. But don't worry it won't really bite you in the neck like a vampire (or it may who knows? :) ) Just get up upon the block fly in the air and swim. Swim with all the effort you got. You've been doing it the last how many years? Find an inspiring song and stick to it. You are a fish; a fish in the Great Barrier Reef. Just keeping going. As Dory said, "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming....." Keep your mind awake and alive during the entire mile because before you know it....
Your done. And have once again survived the longest event in swim competition THE MILE

Crazy National Month of June
So there's a lot of ideas that show awareness everything single month. And trust me some are quite extreme and some do it just to promote business. Check out what following events are observed in June!
Well there's Adopt A Cat Month for all you loving felines out there.
How about some Accordion Awareness for you? You know how attracting that is.

Or you can join the war with pharmacists in Pharmacists declare war on alcoholism Month! RAHHH!
I guess this their logo some Native American person.
Have you read in the bathroom this month. No? Well guess what is Bathroom Reading Month!
Of course my favorite thing is that it is National Candy Month!
I think I'm going to go buy me a party size bag of M&Ms to raise awareness... I think I should go get some right now. Yaay M&M's. :)

Are you on the Edge?
I am so glad my Daddy just bought Lady Gaga's new album. BORN THIS WAY! I know lots of people have various opinions about her but I don't really pay attention the way she idolizes herself or the crazy costumes she wears. I love listening to the lyrics to almost all her songs. Some are controversial but I can find some symbolism and meaning to it to make it not controversial. She always breaking boundaries with her works. The fact that she wrote a lot of the songs on her own makes it seem more special. And I also know she can really sing. She is not like the artists of today who like to use AutoTune to make them sound robotic and techno. I also enjoy the fact that she has incorporated a lot of jazz solos into her tunes especially in her song the Edge of Glory. Who could not resist such a sweet sounding saxophone? It has been a while since a popular artist like Lady Gaga has done something that awesome. Well I'm just gonna chill this Saturday until of course I have to start scheduling for college tours. I have to somehow fit it in with my mom and dad's busy work schedule. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

School's Out and Summer Craziness Begins!

Also I am studying a lot for the SAT and ACT. I don't understand why these tests have to determine where I go to college. I'm not always the best test taker and I'm not the smartest genius but I can work and study hard to get what I want. With the cost of tuition so high and more we have to pay for these tests as well. It doesn't make sense.
Stick with me to see how I survive the twists and turns of my last and final year of high school!
